Climate change: a view from the past

Alumni are warmly invited to join us for our second annual panel discussion at The Geological Society in London on Tuesday 22 November. Our expert panellists include David Hodell, Eric Wolff, Sasha Turchyn and Alex Maskell. Lord Oxburgh KBE (Head of Department 1980-88) has kindly agreed to chair the discussion.

 

Afterwards there will be a chance to meet fellow alumni and the panel over drinks and canapés in the Lower Library.

Tools of the Trade booklet cover

Tools of the Trade

To accompany the Sedgwick Museum’s exhibition ‘Tools of the Trade’, an illustrated booklet is available for £7.50 from the Museum shop.

 

The exhibition showcases a selection of the Museum’s unique historic collection of geological hammers. The booklet details the history of the collection and those geologists who donated their hammers.

Curious Objects

A cabinet of curiosities tell the part they play in the story of the University Library in the second public exhibition to mark the 600th anniversary year. Amongst the objects on display are items from the collection of Agostino Scilla, on loan from the Sedgwick Museum.

 

‘Curious Objects’ opens on 3 November and will run until 21 March 2017.

Our next Alumni Day and Dinner will be held on Saturday 13 May 2017. There will be a particular focus on those that graduated in 1957, 67, 77, 87, 97 and 2007, but all alumni are welcome.
