Energy and Environment

The University of Cambridge presented its Cambridge Green Challenge awards for the 2016-17 academic year at Wolfson College on 21 June. This included Green Impact Awards, recognising the efforts of University departments and Colleges in improving their environmental performance, and the Carbon Challenge award, a competition which invited staff and students to develop innovative proposals to cut carbon emissions on the University estate.

The department took part in Green Impact for the first time in 2016-17 working towards a Bronze award and taking the first steps to embed good environmental practices, and to communicate to colleagues and students on a range of sustainability issues.
