Locations, Services and Transport

The Department of Earth Sciences is located on the Downing Site in the centre of Cambridge, see Site Map.  A disabled parking bay is available in the front of the South Wing Entrance for disabled visitors to the Sedgwick Museum and the Department; the car park is open air and all on one level.  Please contact Charlie Aldous if you require the use of the disabled parking bay.  There is a public car park close by, the Grand Arcade Car Park.

The Department of Earth Sciences is spread over four floors.

No smoking anywhere in the building

Medical facilities

First aiders on site.  First Aid boxed are available throughout the Department. 

Emergency procedures

If you need help in descending stairs in an emergency, evacuation chairs are located on both South and East Wing Stairwells.  Please ensure that you make your need known to your host.  Lifts are not to be used in the event of an emergency evacuation.

A Safety leaflet showing the location of all exits and the fire assembly point will be given to all visitors when they register with Reception on arrival.

Specific Learning Difficulties and Mental Health Issues

Arrangements for members with Specific Learning Difficulties are on an individual basis, in conjunction with the Disability Resource Centre.
