I did my undergraduate degree at the University of Manchester and, deciding on a career-switch, moved to the University of Birmingham where I studied for an MSc in Applied Meteorology and Climatology. I became interested in palaeoclimate, in particular Antarctic climate, and decided to pursue a PhD here at Cambridge where I now study Antarctic ice cores.
I'm interested in science communication and engaging the public with climate science. I am also very much looking forward to an Antarctic field trip early in 2020 where I will be drilling ice at a new site in West Antarctica.
My research investigates the reliability of climate signals in ice core records and I am interested specifically in the spatial variability of Antarctic climate throughout the last glacial cycle.
