CURRENTLY OPERATIONAL INSTRUMENTS
CuKα D8
Theta-theta Bruker D8 equipped with: CuKα source, Vantec PSD detector (maximum aperture 11.5 degrees), MRI heating chamber
Current settings:
- room conditions with 9-slot sample changer in reflection geometry
- in-situ high temperature up to 1200C (in vacuum) or 900C (in air) in reflection geometry
MoKα D8
Theta-theta Bruker D8 equipped with: MoKα source, Lynxeye XE-T PSD detector, HPC900 Anton-Paar pressurised gas chamber
Current settings:
- room conditions in reflection geometry
- room conditions in transmission (capillary) geometry - it allows for total scattering measurements (max Q = 17Å) for PDF analysis
- in-situ high temperature up to 900C in air or vacuum.
Future development:
- A gas supply system will be installed in the laboratory to allow for pressurised gases experiments, including CO2 and N2: in-situ experiments in CO2 atmosphere will be limited to 50 bar and 500C; in-situ experiments in N2 will be limited to 100bar and 900C.
We also have computer access to a number of softwares and databases.
Full safety procedures for Cambridge users.
