I am a seismologist interested in the following:

  • Investigating signatures of tectonic processes preserved at the margins of Precambrian lithosphere using seismic tomography combined with evidence from the geological record.


  • Incorporating small temporary seismic networks into continental/global tomographic models to illuminate typically poorly resolved features.


  •  Understanding better the mantle structure and dynamics beneath Africa using passive seismic imaging of both bulk velocity and sharp discontinuities.


BBNAP19 - The absolute P-wavespeed tomographic model focusing on the North American upper mantle (Boyce et al., 2019) is now available for distribution on the IRIS EMC .
